Utah High School Basketball - Dixie beaten by Lehi
December 20, 2011: St. George, UT 84770 In Tuesday's non-league match, the visiting Lehi Pioneers basketball team scored a good 53-43 triumph over the Dixie Flyers.
In their next game, the Pioneers face the Hurricane Tigers (Hurricane, UT) in a non-league match, on Wednesday, December 21. Lehi will attempt to move on its 5-1 season record.
With the defeat, Dixie moves to 0-1 on the year. The Flyers travel to Bountiful (Bountiful, UT) to face the Braves in a non-league match on Thursday, December 22. The Braves enter the match with a record of 2-0.
First Quarter
Tanner Pittard helped Lehi get off to a fast start by scoring 7 of Lehi's 15 points in the first quarter. Dixie was only able to come up with 6 points in the period. The score at the end of the first quarter is Lehi 15 and Dixie 6.
Second Quarter
In the second quarter Dixie shot 10 foul shots and made 7 of them. They were not able to make any field goals in the period. Lehi hit five 2 point baskets for a 10 point qiarter. The score at the end of the first half is Lehi 25 and Dixie 13.
Third Quarter
After only having 2 baskets in the first half, Dixie shot 7 baskets in the third quarter and had a 14 point third quarter. Lehi keep the lead over 10 by scoring 15 points. The score at the end of 3 quarters is Lehi 40 and Dixie 27.
Fourth Quarter
Lehi hit foul shots to hold on to the lead and went on to win by the score of 53 to 43. Lehi had 8 players score in the game. Tanner Pittard had 12 points while Dallin Driggs and Jordan Peck each had 11.
