Mississippi High School Basketball - Meridian overwhelms Petal

Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Meridian Wildcats (Meridian, MS) and the host Petal Panthers (Petal, MS), saw Meridian's basketball squad wallop Petal by a tally of 62-26.

With the victory, Meridian improves its record to 15-5 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Oak Grove (Hattiesburg, MS) to confront the Warriors in a 6A Region 5 challenge on Friday, January 10. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 7-6.

Next up, the Panthers confront the Brandon Bulldogs (Brandon, MS) in a 6A Region 5 challenge, on Friday, January 10. Petal will attempt to improve on its 8-7 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 12-5 record after their 53-40 non-league win over Pearl (Pearl, MS).
