The Lincoln Park Railsplitters basketball team scored 40 points and restricted the visiting Melvindale Cardinals to 34 in the Railsplitters league victory on Thursday.

The Railsplitters now sport a 5-4 record. They play next when they travel to Kennedy for a Downriver contest on Tuesday, January 22. Lincoln Park will meet a Eagles team coming off a 53-46 league loss to Carlson (Gibraltar, MI). The Eagles record now stands at 4-5.

The Cardinals (3-7) will now prepare for their contest against Truman (Taylor, MI). The Cougars come into the Downriver contest with a 7-2 record. In their last contest, Truman edged Woodhaven (Brownstown, MI), 80-35, in a league contest.
