North Carolina High School Basketball - North Mecklenburg prevails Glenelg Country
December 30, 2011: Huntersville, NC 28078 North Mecklenburg Vikings (Huntersville, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Glenelg Country Dragons (Glenelg, MD), 67-54 in a non-league bout.
With the win, North Mecklenburg upgrades its record to 9-2 on the season. The Vikings host Mallard Creek (Charlotte, NC) to play the Mavericks in a 4A I-Meck bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Mavericks go into the bout with a record of 8-2. Mallard Creek won 63-42 in their recent non-league bout against West Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC)
Next up, the Dragons battle the St. Frances Academy Panthers (Baltimore, MD) in a MIAA A challenge, on Tuesday, January 3. Glenelg Country will attempt to improve on its 7-7 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 4-3 record after their 48-47 non-league loss to St. John's (Washington, DC).
