In Tuesday's non-league outing, the Gulf Buccaneers (New Port Richey, FL) basketball squad edged the visiting Hernando Leopards (Brooksville, FL), by a count of 45-43.

The Buccaneers (8-6) will now prepare for their outing against Hudson (Hudson, FL). The Cobras go into the 6A District 8 outing with a 1-12 record. In their last outing, Hudson was tipped by Ridgewood (New Port Richey, FL), 58-26, in a league outing.

The Leopards now hold a 7-7 record. They play next when they host Central for a 6A District 7 outing on Friday, January 12. Hernando will clash with a Bears squad coming off a 61-59 league loss to Citrus (Inverness, FL). The Bears record now stands at 0-13.
