The Barlow Falcons (Redding, CT) softball routed the host New Milford Green Wave (New Milford, CT), 6-1 in Friday's league bout.

The Falcons (8-5) will now prepare for their bout against Brookfield (Brookfield, CT). The Bobcats go into the Southwest - Colonial bout with a 4-2 record. In their last bout, Brookfield held off Weston (Weston, CT), 16-0, in a league bout.

The Green Wave now possess a 2-6 record.

Game Summary

The Falcons pounded out 10 hits and played flawless defense as they defeated host New Milford 6-1 in a key SWC contest that vaulted Barlow in the CIAC state playoffs for the second consecutive year. Morgan Bonis (4-2) fired a one-hitter and was perfect through four innings. Katherine Acocella went 3-4, scored three runs and stole a base in the big win. Barlow travels to Brookfield on Monday for a key match-up against the Bobcats.
