In Friday's league challenge, the Vela Sabercats (Edinburg, TX) baseball squad routed the visiting Edinburg Bobcats (Edinburg, TX), by a final score of 19-2.

With the win, Vela upgrades its record to 11-4 on the season. The Sabercats host Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest (Pharr, TX) to battle the Javelinas in a 6A Region IV District 31 test on Tuesday, March 20. The Javelinas come into the test with a record of 6-6. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest lost 8-2 in their recent league test against Edinburg North (Edinburg, TX)

With the defeat, Edinburg falls to 5-9 on the season. The Bobcats travel to Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial (Alamo, TX) to battle the Wolverines in a 6A Region IV District 31 test on Tuesday, March 20.
