Game Summary
Just days before his start on Friday against Tuckahoe, Yonkers senior Nick DeMarco worked on throwing a circle changeup with his coaches. The results paid immediate dividends, with DeMarco throwing a no-hitter against defending Class C state champ Tuckahoe in a 15-0 win at Sullivan Oval.
“My coach showed me a new way to throw it the other day, and it was working really well,” the left-hander said. “It was the first time I used it in a game. It’s going to be a good tool for the rest of the season.”
DeMarco struck out six Tigers and walked only one, facing just one batter over the minimum. Teammate Kyle Dailey went 3 for 3 with two home runs and seven RBI.
