The Merrillville Pirates basketball team scored 71 points and restricted the host Hammond Bishop Noll Warriors to 50 in the Pirates non-league victory on Friday.

The Pirates now sport a 3-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Andrean for a non-league contest on Saturday, December 12. Merrillville will battle a Fighting 59ers team coming off a 76-69 non-league loss to Bowman Academy (Gary, IN). The Fighting 59ers record now stands at 0-3.

The Warriors (4-2) will now prepare for their contest against North Newton (Morocco, IN). The Spartans come into the Greater South Shore contest with a 1-2 record. In their last contest, North Newton was routed by Lake Station Edison (Lake Station, IN), 47-44, in a league contest.
