California High School Basketball - Birmingham overwhelms Grant

January 9, 2009: Van Nuys, CA 91401

Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Birmingham Patriots (Lake Balboa, CA) and the host Grant Lancers (Van Nuys, CA), saw Birmingham's basketball squad trounce Grant by a count of 87-39.

With the victory, Birmingham upgrades its record to 3-9 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Chatsworth (Chatsworth, CA) to play the Chancellors in a West Valley challenge on Wednesday, January 14. The Chancellors come into the challenge with a record of 9-6. Chatsworth won 55-48 in their recent non-league challenge against Riordan (San Francisco, CA)

Next up, the Lancers play the Poly Parrots (Sun Valley, CA) in a East Valley challenge, on Monday, January 12. Grant will attempt to upgrade on its 5-10 season record. The Parrots come into the challenge with a 3-15 record after their 50-32 non-league win over South Tahoe (South Lake Tahoe, CA).
