Valentine (Valentine, NE) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Cozad Haymakers (Cozad, NE), 50-45 in a league bout.

With the victory, Valentine upgrades its record to 1-2 on the campaign. The host Ainsworth (Ainsworth, NE) to play the Bulldogs in a C2 District 8 bout on Tuesday, December 11. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 0-3. Ainsworth lost 58-50 in their recent non-league bout against Gordon-Rushville (Gordon, NE)

Next up, the Haymakers play the McCook Bison (McCook, NE) in a B District 7 bout, on Tuesday, December 11. Cozad will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record. The Bison come into the bout with a 1-2 record after their 50-45 non-league win over Burlington (Burlington, CO).
