Illinois High School Basketball - Monticello overwhelmed by Schlarman
January 27, 2018: Danville, IL 61832 The Schlarman Hilltoppers basketball team scored 73 points and restricted the visiting Monticello Sages to 38 in the Hilltoppers non-league victory on Saturday.
The Hilltoppers now sport a 24-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Milford for a Vermilion Valley contest on Monday, January 29. Schlarman will battle a Bearcats team coming off a 42-27 league loss to Bismarck-Henning (Bismarck, IL). The Bearcats record now stands at 12-11.
The Sages (16-4) will now prepare for their contest against Tolono Unity (Tolono, IL). The Rockets come into the Illini Prairie contest with a 9-14 record. In their last contest, Tolono Unity was routed by Pontiac (Pontiac, IL), 43-33, in a league contest.
