The East Burke Cavaliers (Connelly Springs, NC) volleyball overcame the host Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC), 3-1 in Thursday's non-league outing.

With the win, East Burke upgrades its record to 11-6 on the year. The Cavaliers travel to Bunker Hill (Claremont, NC) to face the Bears in a 2A Northwestern Foothills outing on Monday, October 1. The Bears go into the outing with a record of 10-8. Bunker Hill won 3-1 in their recent league outing against Draughn (Valdese, NC)

The Cougars now own a 7-12 record. They play next when they host South Caldwell for a 3A/4A Northwestern outing on Monday, October 1. Alexander Central will face a Spartans squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to St. Stephens (Hickory, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 4-12.
