Rich South Stars (Richton Park, IL) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Centennial Chargers (Champaign, IL), 49-47 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Rich South upgrades its record to 17-5 on the campaign. The Stars travel to Rich East (Park Forest, IL) to play the Rockets in a Southland bout on Thursday, February 2. The Rockets come into the bout with a record of 14-8. Rich East lost 61-55 in their recent league bout against Rich Central (Olympia Fields, IL)

Next up, the Chargers play the Bloomington Purple Raiders (Bloomington, IL) in a Big Twelve bout, on Thursday, February 2. Centennial will attempt to upgrade on its 20-5 season record.
