Florida High School Volleyball - Central crushed by Hernando

August 30, 2018: Brooksville, FL 34613

The Hernando Leopards topped the host Central Bears volleyball team by a score of 3-0 in Thursday's league test.

The Leopards now have a 4-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Crystal River for a 6A District 7 test on Tuesday, September 4. Hernando will confront a Pirates team coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Wildwood (Wildwood, FL). The Pirates record now stands at 2-2.

The Bears (0-4) will now prepare for their test against Citrus (Inverness, FL). The Hurricanes enter the 6A District 7 test with a 1-4 record.

Match Summary

The Bears played hard for the first two sets, but inconsistent play once again haunted Central. Standout hitter Chantel Bartley fell to an injured ankle in the third set, and the Bears never recovered. As has been the case for much of the early part of this season, the team is improving slowly but noticeably.
