Nevada High School Softball - Silver Stage bounces Hug
April 3, 2009: Silver Springs, NV 89429 The Silver Stage Nighthawks the visiting Hug Hawks softball squad by a final score of 8-4 in Friday's non-league battle.
The Nighthawks (11-2) will now prepare for their battle against Churchill County (Fallon, NV). The Greenwave go into the non-league battle with a 4-10 record. In their last battle, Churchill County was routed by Galena (Reno, NV), 5-1, in a league battle.
The Hawks now possess a 0-8 record. They play next when they travel to Reno for a North - High Desert battle on Saturday, April 4.
Game Summary
Hug jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the 2n on an error on a strike out, 2 walks and a single by Smith. Forcher followed with a hit, then 2 more walks walked in the 4th run. Silver Stage got one in the 3rd on a triple by Merrell, and a single by Chapman. SS scored three in the 5th on consecutive hits by pato, Merrell, Stovall, Chapman and a Sacrifice fly by Trina Wren. In the 6th we got one more on a sigle and stolen base by Amber Piper and Merrell's second triple of the day. We added two more in the 7th on a single by Wren, double by Glauner, and a triple by Jessie Bader. Bader scored on a sacrifice bunt by Amber Piper.
