Mississippi High School Basketball - Coldwater crushes Independence

Coldwater Cougars (Coldwater, MS) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Independence Wildcats (Independence, MS), 93-55 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Coldwater upgrades its record to 20-3 on the season. The Cougars host Broad Street (Shelby, MS) to play the Jaguars in a 1A Region 3 bout on Tuesday, February 4. The Jaguars go into the bout with a record of 10-10. Broad Street won 60-48 in their recent league bout against St. Joseph (Greenville, MS)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Holly Springs Hawks (Holly Springs, MS) in a 3A Region 2 bout, on Tuesday, February 4. Independence will attempt to upgrade on its 4-17 season record. The Hawks go into the bout with a 11-9 record after their 68-63 league win over Charleston (Charleston, MS).
