March 7, 2011: Los Angeles, CA 90061 The Valley Alternative Magnet Cougars topped the host Locke Saints volleyball team by a score of 3-0 in Monday's non-league test.
The Cougars now have a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Animo Bunche for a non-league test on Thursday, March 10.
The Saints (0-1) will now prepare for their test against King-Drew Medical (Los Angeles, CA). The Golden Eagles enter the non-league test with a 1-0 record. In their last test, King-Drew Medical gained a win over Hamilton (Los Angeles, CA), 3-0, in a non-league test.

Opposite Daniel Park hoovered up 13 digs on D. Senior setter Jorge Mota masterminded the offense with 22 assists. Senior middle Zhak Abgaryan killed half of his 12 swings to hit .333. Junior outside Vincent Torres also parked half of his sets to hit a crisp .300. Valley A&M trailed a determined Locke team 22-24 in game 3. The Cougars stood tall with a successful goal line stand to come from behind and take game 3 in a dramatic 27-25 win for the sweep."
