The Casa Grande Cougars (Casa Grande, AZ) basketball crushed the host Florence Gophers (Florence, AZ), 80-57 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Cougars (13-9) will now prepare for their test against Basha (Chandler, AZ). The Bears go into the non-league test with a 20-3 record. In their last test, Basha walloped Desert Ridge (Mesa, AZ), 84-50, in a league test.

The Gophers now own a 19-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Coolidge for a III Section II test on Tuesday, January 31. Florence will clash with a Bears squad coming off a 55-36 league win over Santa Cruz Valley (Eloy, AZ). The Bears record now stands at 10-10.
