October 8, 2010: Franklin, NC 28734 In Friday's league game, the Franklin Panthers (Franklin, NC) football team smashed the visiting Smoky Mountain Mustangs (Sylva, NC), by a final score of 42-0.
The Panthers (5-2) will now prepare for their game against North Henderson (Hendersonville, NC). The Knights come into the 3A/2A Appalachian game with a 3-4 record. In their last game, North Henderson was trounced by Tuscola (Waynesville, NC), 43-28, in a league game.
The Mustangs now hold a 0-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to East Henderson for a 3A/2A Appalachian game on Friday, October 15. Smoky Mountain will battle a Eagles team coming off a 40-18 league win over Brevard (Brevard, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 6-1.
