North Carolina High School Softball - Cuthbertson nudges South Mecklenburg
March 23, 2011: Charlotte, NC 28210 Cuthbertson Cavaliers (Waxhaw, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host South Mecklenburg Sabres (Charlotte, NC), 3-2 in a non-league challenge.
The Cavaliers now sport a 4-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology for a 2A/1A Rocky River challenge on Thursday, March 24.
With the loss, South Mecklenburg falls to 3-7 on the campaign. The Sabres travel to Myers Park (Charlotte, NC) to face the Mustangs in a 4A Southwestern challenge on Friday, March 25. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 0-2.
Game Summary
The Lady Sabres lost their third one-run game of the season, falling to the Cuthbertson Cavaliers 3-2.
Jordan Harmon led the Sabres with a single and a triple, while Shelby Hitchcock added a triple of her own.
Morgan Neely pitched a complete came for the Sabres, giving up only four hits.
