Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Sunrise Mountain Mustangs (Peoria, AZ) and the visiting Coronado Dons (Scottsdale, AZ), saw Sunrise Mountain's basketball squad hold off Coronado by a score of 50-43.

With the victory, Sunrise Mountain improves its record to 3-10 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Mesa (Mesa, AZ) to battle the Jackrabbits in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 6. The Jackrabbits come into the challenge with a record of 8-5. Mesa lost 67-58 in their recent non-league challenge against El Toro (Lake Forest, CA)

Next up, the Dons battle the Seton Catholic Sentinels (Chandler, AZ) in a 4A East Sky challenge, on Tuesday, January 6. Coronado will attempt to improve on its 1-11 season record. The Sentinels come into the challenge with a 8-7 record after their 67-63 non-league win over La Joya Community (Avondale, AZ).
