Gate City Blue Devils (Gate City, VA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Union [Appalachia/Powell Valley] Bears (Appalachia, VA), 77-67 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Gate City upgrades its record to 20-4 on the season. The Blue Devils host Richlands (Richlands, VA) to play the Blue Tornado in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 23. The Blue Tornado go into the bout with a record of 15-4.

Next up, the Bears play the Graham G-Men (Bluefield, VA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, February 24. Union [Appalachia/Powell Valley] will attempt to upgrade on its 17-6 season record.
