In Thursday's non-league match, the visiting Mumford Mustangs basketball team scored a tight 33-31 triumph over the Ypsilanti Phoenix.

In their next game, the Mustangs face the Detroit City Bears (Detroit, MI) in a Detroit Public - West test, on Friday, January 27. Mumford will attempt to advance on its 6-1 season record.
