Anderson-Shiro Fighting Owls (Anderson, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Iola Bulldogs (Iola, TX), 82-64 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Anderson-Shiro upgrades its record to 1-8 on the season. The Fighting Owls host Centerville (Centerville, TX) to encounter the Tigers in a 2A Region III District 23 bout on Tuesday, January 4. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 3-1.

Next up, the Bulldogs encounter the Apple Springs Eagles (Apple Springs, TX) in a non-league bout, on Monday, December 20. Iola will attempt to upgrade on its 8-8 season record.
