Brittney Venable has been named player of the year. "This award goes to a young lady that is above the average player. One of the most talented players in our Region as well as the Dogwood District. This young lady has received awards throughout the season she was name to the 1st team all district Dogwood, as well as Region B Honorable Mention. Brittiney is the top leading scorer for the Wildcats totaling 192 points and averaging 10.7 points per game, #5 person in running for Dogwood POY, recording many double-doubles throughout the season. This individual led us with 82 rebounds, 23 steals, 16 deflections, 14 assists, 13 blocks, and was the leading player with five total charges for the season in our district. She has been a very instrumental part in the wildcat program, paving the way for those to follow. She is a great representative for the Wildcat athletic program. This individual winning this award is even bigger than normal because she doesn't play the crowd, however she worked hard with a team concept in mind. "
