Angel Hernandez has been named player of the year. "Angel Hernandez has been selected as the 2014 - 2015 Player of the Year for Yuba City Honkers. Hernandez finished his Senior campaign scoring 530 points good for an average of 19.6 points per game. He scored from all over the court while effectively shooting 47% FG and knocking down a career best 45 three pointers. Angel attacked the basket aggressively, resulting in him getting to the charity stripe. He finished the year 85/111 FT (77%) and also pulled down 122 rebounds. Although the Honkers struggled in TCC league play as a team, Hernandez stepped up his efforts and his scoring. In league play, Hernandez scored 266 points in just 12 games, good for 22.1 ppg. Angel was only held to single digits in two games all year and saved some of his best performances for the final two weeks of the season. On the season he surpassed the 20 point mark 11 times, the 30 point mark twice and the 40 point mark once. On Senior night and his last game Hernandez exploded for 42 points on 16/23 FG. "
