Anyssia Gibbs has been named player of the year. "As the Captain of the Varsity GHHS Girls' Basketball Team, Anyssia has led her team to an unprecedented accomplishment: the Desert Sky League Championship (11-1) for the 1st time in school history. She is a phenomenal athlete who has been a major contributing factor to the team's growth in both execution and confidence. Her leadership, selflessness, forward thinking, and direct communication has been instrumental to the notability of our program. I consider her to have been influential to the restoration of the GHHS Girls' Basketball program. Anyssia's excellence during our last four seasons has established GHHS as a winning program, winning more games in these 4 seasons than in the prior 15 combined. She is a tremendous student athlete and, this season, her most improved quality has been her leadership and her ability to communicate effectively. Anyssia set the example of an outstanding leader, both on and off the court, by striving to do her best athletically and academically. "
