Luis Gonzalez has been named player of the year. "Luis demonstrated from the beginning of the season his on field leadership that led this years team as another state playoff contender. Luis joins an elite group of Most Valuable Player of the Year from Amphi. Many great players have come and gone through this school soccer program and to be recognized as being one of the best shows that Luis skill in this beautiful game of soccer will forever be remembered. Luis was issued the coveted number 10 jersey and so greatly deserved. As long as Luis was in a match we had the potential to win that is why he hardly sat all season. Luis played at times injured and that showed his love of the game and wanting to win at any cost, these are some true characteristics of a great soccer player one that will truly be missed for years to come. Great job Luis!"
