Shannon Saile has been named player of the year. "Shannon Saile is the Land O' Lakes HS Softball Player of the Year. She was selected as the Sunshine Athletic Conference East Player of the Year, The Florida Athletic Coaches Association District Player of the Year, an All Star selection and finalist for 6A FACA Player of the Year. I am sure there are several other local and State Honors to come. Shannon finished the year 18-3 with an 0.78 era. In 134.2 innings, she struck out 269 batters. That is 2 batters per inning. Shannon only gave up 47 hits. Shannon had 4 no-hitters and 3 in a row. Shannon had a streak of 60 innings without giving up an earned run which ran through the districts and regionals. In the district Championship against River Ridge, she threw 4 scoreless innings. After River Ridge rallied to within 1 run and the tying and go ahead runners on base, Shannon re-entered the game with 1 out. She struck out the next 2 batters on 6 pitches to end the game. LOL went to Final 4 for the first time since 1995."
