Rachel Young has been named player of the year. "Rachel finished the season with the single season record of 23 goals on 113 shots. Fifty-four shots were on goal for a 48% accuracy rate. She played 1451 minutes in 22 games for an average of 66 minutes per game. She finished her high school career in second on the all-time goals list with 53 goals and was named 6A Southwest Region Player of the Year. Additionally, she was selected to the 5A-6A Academic All-State Girls Soccer Team with the 5th highest GPA on the team, 4.300. Rachel's tenacity and skill allowed her to control the midfield throughout the season and score equally well with both feet from distance. Her fearlessness gave her the ability to score several goals off headers during the season. She was instrumental in taking free kicks and corner kicks throughout the year. Her performance led the team to the 6A Southwest region championship. We want to wish her all the best as she continues her soccer career next year at McNeese State University in Lake Charles , Louisiana"
