In Friday's non-league match, the host Pershing County Mustangs football squad scored a good 36-15 victory over the Portola Tigers.

In their next game, the Mustangs clash with the West Wendover Wolverines (West Wendover, NV) in a III Northern match, on Friday, September 19. Pershing County will attempt to move on its 2-1 season record. The Wolverines enter the match with a 0-3 record after their 51-6 league loss to Yerington (Yerington, NV).
