New Jersey High School Basketball - Middle Township thwarts Wildwood Catholic
December 19, 2017: Cape May Court House, NJ 08210 The Middle Township Panthers (Cape May Court House, NJ) basketball knocked off the visiting Wildwood Catholic Crusaders (North Wildwood, NJ), 55-42 in Tuesday's league test.
The Panthers (2-0) will now prepare for their test against St. Joseph (Hammonton, NJ). The Wildcats go into the test with a 0-0 record.
The Crusaders now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they travel to Atlantic City for a non-league test on Friday, January 5.
First Quarter
Middle takes a first qtr. lead over WC, 12-8
Second Quarter
Catholic wins their only qtr. due to Middle's inability to take care of business to close out the qtr. 25-22 @the half!
Third Quarter
Middle pulls out a close qtr., 16-14 to take a 41-36 lead going into the final period.
Fourth Quarter
Middle would stretch their lead throughout the game from 5 to 9 pts., however, WC wouldn't go away and would get it back to 5. Middle goes on a good run at the right time in the 4th to finally shake those pesky Crusaders & win by 13. Middle was led by Jake Cooper{15}, TJ Harris{9}, David Zarfati{9}, Matt Marino{7}
