Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Cannon Cougars (Concord, NC) and the visiting Piedmont Classical Bobcats (Greensboro, NC), saw Cannon's basketball squad overcome Piedmont Classical by a tally of 51-37.

With the victory, Cannon improves its record to 3-6 on the campaign. The Cougars host Covenant Day (Matthews, NC) to confront the Lions in a NCISAA Charlotte Independent test on Tuesday, January 9. The Lions go into the test with a record of 2-11. Covenant Day won 54-38 in their recent non-league test against Cary Academy (Cary, NC)

The Bobcats now own a 4-7 record. They play next when they travel to College Prep & Leadership Academy for a CAASC Central Carolina - East test on Friday, January 5. Piedmont Classical will encounter a squad coming off a 26-15 non-league loss to Carter G. Woodson (Winston-Salem, NC). The record now stands at 0-1.
