The Cotopaxi Pirates basketball team (Cotopaxi, CO), was overwhelmed 54-19 in Friday's league battle with the host Sierra Grande Panthers (Blanca, CO)

The Panthers now possess a 8-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Creede/Lake City for a 1A District 6 battle on Saturday, February 6. Sierra Grande will confront a Miners team coming off a 37-33 league loss to Moffat (Moffat, CO). The Miners record now stands at 4-8.

The Pirates (8-6) will now prepare for their battle against La Veta (La Veta, CO). The Redskins come into the 1A Southern Peaks battle with a 9-4 record. In their last battle, La Veta trounced Aguilar (Aguilar, CO), 2-0, in a league battle.
