The Martinsville Bulldogs (Martinsville, VA) basketball knocked off the visiting Halifax County Comets (South Boston, VA), 65-53 in Wednesday's non-league test.

The Bulldogs (10-10) will now prepare for their test against Patrick County (Stuart, VA). The Cougars go into the AA Piedmont test with a 5-13 record. In their last test, Patrick County topped North Stokes (Danbury, NC), 63-59, in a non-league test.

The Comets now own a 8-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Henry for a AAA Western Valley test on Friday, January 23. Halifax County will clash with a Patriots squad coming off a 68-48 league loss to Washington (Danville, VA). The Patriots record now stands at 7-10.
