Utah High School Basketball - Lehi thwarted by Lone Peak
February 3, 2015: Lehi, UT 84043 The Lehi Pioneers basketball team (Lehi, UT), dropped 87-72 in Tuesday's league battle with the visiting Lone Peak Knights (Highland, UT)
The Knights now possess a 15-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Westlake for a 5A Region 4 battle on Friday, February 6. Lone Peak will confront a Thunder team coming off a 60-53 league win over Riverton (Riverton, UT). The Thunder record now stands at 9-10.
The Pioneers (10-9) will now prepare for their battle against Pleasant Grove (Pleasant Grove, UT). The Vikings come into the 5A Region 4 battle with a 15-4 record. In their last battle, Pleasant Grove dropped by American Fork (American Fork, UT), 69-62, in a league battle.
First Quarter
Frank Jackson had a 13 point first quarter for Lone Peak while Lehi scored 14 total in the period. The score at the end of the first quarter is Lone Peak 24 and lehi 14.
Second Quarter
Lehi got 11 points from Briggs Jensen and 8 from Chase Berry as Lehi scored 22 points in the second quarter. Lone Peak scored 14 in the quarter and the score at the end of the first half is Lone Peak 38 and Lehi 36.
Third Quarter
Lone Peak begin to pull away with a 21 point third quarter. Lehi scored just 13 and the score at the end of three quarters is Lone Peak 59 and lehi 49.
Fourth Quarter
Hitting foul shots late, the Knights scored 28 points in the final quarter while Lehi had 23. The final score is Lone Peak 87 and Lehi 72. Frank Jackson scored 38 points in the win. Lehi was led by 18 points from Briggs Jensen. There were a total of 18 three point shots made in the game.
