West Wilkes Blackhawks (Millers Creek, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host North Wilkes Vikings (Hays, NC), 23-7 in a league test.

With the win, West Wilkes upgrades its record to 5-2 on the season. The Blackhawks host Alleghany (Sparta, NC) to battle the Trojans in a Mountain Valley 1A/2A test on Friday, March 23. The Trojans come into the test with a record of 0-6. Alleghany lost 13-10 in their recent league test against Starmount (Boonville, NC)
