The Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions (Glendale, AZ) football edged the visiting Willow Canyon Wildcats (Surprise, AZ), 17-16 in Friday's league bout.

In their next game, the Mountain Lions face the Valley Vista Monsoon (Surprise, AZ) in a 5A Northwest bout, on Friday, October 29. Mountain Ridge will attempt to move on its 6-2 season record. The Monsoon enter the bout with a 3-5 record after their 41-13 league loss to Boulder Creek (Anthem, AZ).

The Wildcats (4-4) will now prepare for their bout against Boulder Creek (Anthem, AZ). The Jaguar enter the 5A Northwest bout with a 6-3 record. In their last bout, Boulder Creek nudged Valley Vista (Surprise, AZ), 41-13, in a league bout.
