Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Griffith Panthers (Griffith, IN) and the host Wheeler Bearcats (Valparaiso, IN), saw Griffith's basketball squad hold off Wheeler by a tally of 49-42.

With the victory, Griffith improves its record to 3-12 on the campaign. The Panthers host Hammond Gavit (Hammond, IN) to play the Gladiators in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 9. The Gladiators come into the challenge with a record of 2-12. Hammond Gavit lost 67-31 in their recent league challenge against Hammond Morton (Hammond, IN)

Next up, the Bearcats play the Boone Grove Wolves (Valparaiso, IN) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, January 11. Wheeler will attempt to improve on its 1-13 season record.
