The Porter Ridge Pirates softball team scored 12 runs and limited the visiting Central Academy of Technology and Arts Cougars to 3 in the Pirates non-league triumph on Monday.

With the triumph, Porter Ridge moves its record to 8-1 on the year. The Pirates host Hickory Ridge (Harrisburg, NC) to play the Ragin' Bulls in a Southwestern 4A game on Tuesday, March 27. The Ragin' Bulls come into the game with a record of 7-1. Hickory Ridge won 15-0 in their recent league game against East Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC)

In their next game, the Cougars play the Union Academy Cardinals (Monroe, NC) in a non-league game, on Wednesday, March 28. Central Academy of Technology and Arts will attempt to move on its 2-9 season record. The Cardinals come into the game with a 6-3 record after their 15-8 league win over Carolina International School (Concord, NC).
