December 30, 2011: Rio, WI 53960 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Rio Vikings (Rio, WI) and the visiting Green Lake Lakers (Green Lake, WI), saw Rio's basketball squad hold off Green Lake by a score of 53-49.
With the victory, Rio improves its record to 4-2 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Fall River (Fall River, WI) to battle the Pirates in a Trailways - South challenge on Thursday, January 19. The Pirates come into the challenge with a record of 7-2.
The Lakers now own a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cambria-Friesland for a Trailways - Central test on Thursday, January 5.
