Game Story

North Carolina High School Basketball - Independence overwhelms Garinger

February 2, 2018: Charlotte, NC 28205

Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC) and the host Garinger Wildcats (Charlotte, NC), saw Independence's basketball squad wallop Garinger by a tally of 78-36.

With the victory, Independence improves its record to 21-1 on the campaign. The Patriots host Rocky River (Mint Hill, NC) to play the Ravens in a Southwestern 4A challenge on Tuesday, February 6. The Ravens come into the challenge with a record of 17-4. Rocky River won 102-76 in their recent league challenge against Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC)

Next up, the Wildcats play the David W. Butler Bulldogs (Matthews, NC) in a Southwestern 4A challenge, on Tuesday, February 6. Garinger will attempt to improve on its 4-18 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 18-4 record after their 76-57 league win over Hickory Ridge (Harrisburg, NC).
