January 31, 2013: Las Cruces, NM 88001 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Mesilla Valley Christian Sonblazers (Las Cruces, NM) and the visiting Chaparral Lobos (Chaparral, NM), saw Mesilla Valley Christian's basketball squad overcome Chaparral by a tally of 52-40.
With the victory, Mesilla Valley Christian improves its record to 10-11 on the campaign. The Sonblazers host Cobre (Bayard, NM) to confront the Indians in a 2A District 6 challenge on Tuesday, February 5. The Indians come into the challenge with a record of 3-16. Cobre lost 65-45 in their recent non-league challenge against Socorro (Socorro, NM)
Next up, the Lobos confront the Deming Wildcats (Deming, NM) in a 4A District 3 challenge, on Tuesday, February 5. Chaparral will attempt to improve on its 3-16 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 15-5 record after their 47-37 non-league loss to Cathedral (El Paso, TX).
