Illinois High School Basketball - Hillsboro tops Gillespie
December 27, 2018: Gillespie, IL 62033 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Hillsboro Hiltoppers (Hillsboro, IL) and the host Gillespie Miners (Gillespie, IL), saw Hillsboro's basketball squad knock off Gillespie by a count of 63-48.
With the victory, Hillsboro upgrades its record to 7-6 on the campaign. The Hiltoppers travel to Southwestern (Piasa, IL) to play the Piasa Birds in a non-league challenge on Friday, December 28. The Piasa Birds come into the challenge with a record of 5-7. Southwestern won 50-41 in their recent non-league challenge against East Alton-Wood River (Wood River, IL)
Next up, the Miners play the Hillsboro Hiltoppers (Hillsboro, IL) in a South Central challenge, on Friday, January 4. Gillespie will attempt to upgrade on its 5-7 season record. The Hiltoppers come into the challenge with a 8-7 record after their 62-57 non-league loss to Calhoun (Hardin, IL).
