California High School Softball - Alameda bounces Montgomery
May 25, 2011: Alameda, CA 94501 Alameda Hornets (Alameda, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Montgomery Vikings (Santa Rosa, CA), 12-2 in a non-league challenge.
The Hornets now own a 20-5 record.
With the loss, Montgomery falls to 14-11 on the campaign.
Game Summary
Drew Jones had a game for the ages on offense and defense. Jones went 4 for 4, including a double, scored 2 runs, and had 3 RBIs to lead the Hornets to a 12-2 victory over the Montgomery Vikings. Jones also threw out 2 runners from left field, one at third and one at home. Katherine Johnson had a double and a single, walked once, and had 4 RBIs. Johnson also threw a complete game 7-hitter. Mia Musso, Alicia Fong, and Anastasia Scheichl all had two hits. The Hornets move on to play at Petaluma on Friday night.
