Covington Chargers (Covington, TN) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting Trinity Shamrocks (Louisville, KY), 6-5 in a non-league test.

With the win, Covington upgrades its record to 10-7 on the season. The Chargers host Haywood (Brownsville, TN) to battle the Tomcats in a AA District 15 test on Monday, April 7. The Tomcats come into the test with a record of 9-4. Haywood won 17-1 in their recent league test against Liberty Tech Magnet (Jackson, TN)

With the defeat, Trinity falls to 5-7 on the season. The Shamrocks travel to Salpointe Catholic (Tucson, AZ) to play the Lancers in a non-league battle on Thursday, April 3. The Lancers enter the battle with a record of 10-4. Salpointe Catholic lost 7-4 in their recent non-league battle against Central (Murfreesboro, TN)
