Tennessee High School Basketball - Pickett County can't hold off Clay County
January 31, 2012: Byrdstown, TN 38549 The Clay County Bulldogs basketball team scored 49 points and held the host Pickett County Bobcats to 46 in the Bulldogs league triumph on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs now sport a 18-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Gordonsville for a non-league contest on Friday, February 3. Clay County will meet a Tigers team coming off a 53-39 non-league win over Mount Juliet Christian Academy (Mt. Juliet, TN). The Tigers record now stands at 11-9.
The Bobcats (7-12) will now prepare for their contest against Red Boiling Springs (Red Boiling Springs, TN). The Bulldogs enter the non-league contest with a 10-17 record. In their last contest, Red Boiling Springs was nudged by Friendship Christian (Lebanon, TN), 41-37, in a league contest.
