Tennessee High School Basketball - Dickson County nudges Rossview
December 5, 2011: Clarksville, TN 37043 In Monday's league outing, the Dickson County Cougars (Dickson, TN) basketball squad nipped the host Rossview Hawks (Clarksville, TN), by a margin of 45-40.
The Cougars (4-0) will now prepare for their outing against Springfield (Springfield, TN). The Yellowjackets go into the AAA District 10 outing with a 1-2 record. In their last outing, Springfield was tipped by West Creek (Clarksville, TN), 50-40, in a league outing.
The Hawks now own a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they host Northeast for a AAA District 10 outing on Tuesday, December 6. Rossview will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 73-58 league win over Clarksville (Clarksville, TN). The Eagles record now stands at 6-0.

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. --- Dickson County’s Tyler Spicer made a layup with just under 30 seconds remaining to break a tie and give the visiting Cougars the lead for good on the way to a 45-40 District 10-AAA road victory Monday night at Rossview.
Spicer’s basket came on Cameron Tuck’s fifth assist of the game gave the Cougars a 42-40 advantage. Rossview was unable to get another shot off from the field the reminder of the game and Dickson County converted 3-of-4 free throws in the final 10 seconds, the last two made by JeQuan Lewis with less than a second remaining.
The game featured eight ties and 10 lead changes. The biggest lead by any team which was five points by Dickson County in the first half.
Rossview senior Kyle Weldon scored 27 of his team’s 40 points, converting 13-of-16 field goal attempts. He also added 10 rebounds and three blocked shots.
Lewis led DCHS with 12 points while Spicer finished with 10 and had a team-high seven rebounds.
