The Topsail Pirates football team (Hampstead, NC), was tipped 18-13 in Friday's non-league challenge with the host Pender Patriots (Burgaw, NC)

The Patriots (1-0) will now prepare for their challenge against East Columbus (Lake Waccamaw, NC). The Gators come into the non-league challenge with a 0-2 record. In their last challenge, East Columbus was tipped by South Columbus (Tabor City, NC), 42-3, in a non-league challenge.

The Pirates now sport a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to North Brunswick for a non-league challenge on Friday, September 4. Topsail will meet a Scorpions team coming off a 6-0 non-league win over Fairmont (Fairmont, NC). The Scorpions record now stands at 1-1.
